A moist semolina cake enjoyed mostly with coffee or tea in the Middle East. Eat cool to avoid a crumbly mess. Makes 8 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cup (250 g) Fine Semolina
  • 1¼ cup (250 g) Flour
  • 1¼ cup (250 g) Truvia Sweet Complete™ Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener
  • 2 Tbs (25 g) Milk Powder
  • 2 Tsp (6 g) Baking Powder
  • ½ cup (100 g) Butter
  • ¼ cup (50 ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 1¾ cup (350 ml) Warm Water
  • 1¾ Tsp (9 g) Turmeric Powder
  • 2½ Tsp (25 g) Tahina
  • ½ cup (100 g) Almond
  • ¼ cup (50 g) Sesame

Directions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients by hand (Fine semolina, Flour, Truvia Sweet Complete™ Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener , milk powder)
  2. Mix the butter, oil, water and Turmeric ( Turmeric + warm water)
  3. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well until homogeneous
  4. Grease the bottom of the tray (diameter 30 cm) with tahini, then put the mixture and leave it for a minimum of two hours.
    Optional: garnish with almonds before baking
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, then place the tray in the oven for 35-40 minutes
  6. Cut cold and serve
