Kaak With Anise

Anise cookies are traditionally Lebanese. The result is an aromatic and crunchy cookie that is enjoyed with coffee or tea! Makes 8 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup (400 g) Flour
  • 1¼ cup (150 g) Truvia Sweet Complete™ Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener
  • 2 pc Egg
  • 2½ Tbs (25 g) Milk Powder
  • 1½ Tsp (3 g) Baking Powder
  • 2 Tbs (15 g) Black Seed
  • 1 Tsp (2 g) Mahlab
  • 2 Tbs (12 g) powder Anise
  • 3 Tbs (20 g) Anise Grain
  • ½ cup (100 ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tsp (10 ml) Rose Water
  • 2 Tsp (10 ml) Blossom Water
  • 3 Tsp (20 g) Roasted Sesame

Directions

  1. In a mixer, mix eggs and Truvia Sweet Complete™ Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener until they are sticky
  2. Add oil to it, then beat with a mixer
  3. Add black seed, powder and grain Anise (and sesame as desired)
  4. Add the flour mixed with baking powder, mahlab and powdered milk
  5. Add rose water and blossom water knead by hand until it becomes homogeneous
  6. Roll it up in a circular shape and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes at 175°
